Late September into early October is typically mild, with daytime highs around the upper 60s to low 70s and nighttime lows in the upper 40s to mid-50s. Rolling river views and wooded hills frame the area, and nearby Clifty Falls State Park adds trails, ravines, and seasonal color as autumn begins. The historic district provides modest shopping, cafes, and local restaurants without the pace of a large city.
