Parika, Guyana
Parika, west of Georgetown in Region Three, functions as a busy river-port community and a practical gateway toward the Essequibo Islands. Around the Feast season, the area is typically hot and humid, with average highs near 31°C (88°F) and lows around 24°C (75–76°F); September–October also tends to fall in one of Georgetown’s relatively drier stretches of the year. The natural backdrop is the river itself—broad water, low-lying greenery, and the steady movement of boats at the stelling, with ferry traffic forming part of the town’s daily rhythm. Parika is also strongly identified with its market culture, and the rebuilt Parika Market remains a central hub for local produce and everyday needs. Georgetown’s restaurants, shops, and sites like the Botanical Gardens and Kingston Seawall are within reach when additional options are helpful.
Join us in Parika with like-minded brethren where we will celebrate the Feast and worship together in unity!
